Dr. Alland is internationally recognized for his pioneering work on the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and molecular evolution of M. tuberculosis (Mtb).

Nathan is a DPhil student at the University of Oxford studying Paediatrics on a Marshall Scholarship. He is a recent graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a BS and MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology, where his thesis work centered around the production of melanin in the fungus Candida auris. At Oxford, Nathan studies novel technologies for the diagnosis of paediatric TB as part of the NIH-funded FEND for TB consortium.
