Gideon Nsubuga holds a Master of Science degree in Immunology and Clinical Microbiology and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Makerere University. He is an experienced biomedical scientist in the fields of Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, and biorepository science. He also has special training in Laboratory Quality Management Systems, monitoring, and evaluation. Gideon works at Makerere University as the Quality Manager of the Integrated Biorepository of H3Africa Uganda (IBRH3AU), a biorepository located at the College of Health Sciences in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Biology. At the moment, Gideon oversees sample reception, processing, storage, and freezer works management for the Adult FEND-TB project at the IBRH3AU biorepository. He has supervised a number of projects, including but not limited to; Collaborative African Genomics Network (CAfGEN); Neuropsychiatric Genetics in African Populations (NeuroGAP), The Childhood Acute Illness and Nutrition Network (CHAIN study), Advancing Tissue and Organ Biobanking in Uganda, and many others. In his spare time, Gideon enjoys watching soccer, listening to music, and travelling.
