Dr. Doina Rusu is a MD, Ph.D., pneumologist at the Institute of Phthisiopneumology “Chiril Draganiuc”, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, and Master in Public Health Management and Associate Professor at the Department of Pneumology and Allergology at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” in Chisinau. In 2007 she completed a PhD degree in the field of Pneumology for her thesis, “Community-acquired pneumonia: Clinical Course and Management”.

Since November 2022, Dr. Doina Rusu has been the Director of the Institute of Phthisiopneumology “Chiril Draganiuc” and has been actively involved in projects aimed at the diagnosis and treatment of community-acquired pneumonia, infections in the immunocompromised hosts, fungal infections, tuberculosis and NTM, and screening of tuberculosis in the country. Her research interest is focused on issues related to the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory infections, on which she has published a series of articles and thesis. The field of tuberculosis is one of the directions of research in her professional activity.
