Lancet Commission on TB

In the lead-up to the United Nations High-Level Meeting on TB (UNHLM), the Lancet Commission on Tuberculosis has just published a follow-up report to the 2018 Lancet Commission. The Lancet Commission on TB describes how the COVID-19 pandemic has led to stalled progress towards the End-TB targets and endorses a new menu of tools to catalyze the TB response moving forward. The Commission outlines the high economic cost of inaction and calls on the global community to dramatically increase funding for the TB response. A/Prof Helen Cox, an A/Prof in the Division of Medical Microbiology at the University of Cape Town, is one of the Lancet Commissioners.
